Steve Atwater is superintendent of the Lake and Peninsula School District in Alaska.  He decided to try using the Chugach system after viewing their results and believing that it might be a way to aid his school district to be more effective in preparing the student for life.  In a candid, far-reaching audio interview Steve answers all questions about the genesis of the system in his district and how they established local values.  We discuss the process of setting up the education method in a school district and where extra care is needed.  Can the lessons learned in Alaska be applied to other school district environments including large urban districts?  Are we asking too much from our teachers?
